Burn Design Lab

This fall, the BDL team was delighted to welcome Brad Johnson to the fold as our new Chief Financial Officer. Brad spent 30 years in various accounting, auditing, financial and computer systems positions at Weyerhaeuser Company requiring significant travel throughout North America and Europe. “Working with BDL is extremely fulfilling,” said Brad. “It gives me great satisfaction to know that we are improving people’s lives while also providing environmental benefits.” In his free time, Brad still enjoys exploring the world on two wheels or by foot.

We are also pleased to have Jack Kirkman assisting us in the capacity of Consultant to Philanthropy. Jack received a B.A. in Accounting and Business Management from the University of Northern Colorado, followed by a law degree and M.B.A., both from the University of Minnesota. Jack filled various development and fundraising positions throughout his career, finishing as the Managing Director of Acumen, LLC. “Burn Design Lab is the best-kept secret on Vashon,” said Jack. “It’s my job to take us out of hiding.” Jack is an avid sailor and enjoys spending time with his kids, grand-kids, and wife Judy.
