BDL Internships - Where talent and passion meet!
Burn Design Lab is lucky to have a full house this summer with four interns! With students from schools across the US, from the University of Portland to Northeastern University and a few more in between, BDL is positively brimming with talent and passion for clean cookstoves and the power of clean cooking. Say hello the the 2021 Burn Design Lab interns!
Devin Quinoy
Devin Quinoy is a 2nd year student studying Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University, and is originally from Westchester, New York. At BDL Devin involved with the manufacturing of products and the improvement of manufacturing processes for the cookstove factory in Lira, Uganda. In his free time, Devin likes to explore new places, listen to music, and watch baseball.


Cooper Sloan
Cooper just finished his 3rd year at the University of Portland studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in innovation. He grew up in north-central Washington where he developed a passion for skiing. Cooper also enjoys a good game of chess and has an excessive tea collection. At BDL he is developing ergonomic drive mechanisms for the shea roaster project.
Elise Clement
Elise Clement just finished her Junior year at the University of Dayton. There she is studying Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Energy Systems and is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. When she is not working, Elise Loves to hike, explore the city or area she is in, read and hang/talk with friends and family. At BDL she will be working on the ILF project to help optimize the manufacturing process of cookstoves in Lira, Uganda


Andrew Killian
Andrew Killian is a 5th year mechanical and aerospace engineering student at the University of Dayton from Fenton MI. Andrew loves to make things, food, music, art, wood carvings, whatever happens to interest him. Other than that his interests are birds, airplanes, aerodynamic controls, and now cookstoves!
