Join Us in Saying Farewell!

On October 31st, the Burn Design Lab team gathered with friends and colleagues to celebrate the retirement of Lou Fezzio from Burn Manufacturing. Lou’s journey with Burn began in 2011 as a volunteer, and in 2013 Lou joined as an employee. He served as the Chief Technical Officer for the company, and played a crucial part in getting the Kenya factory up and running after CEO Peter Scott shifted to in-country production. Since then Lou has served as an invaluable mentor and guide to the engineering team at Burn Design Lab, and we are so thankful for his time, knowledge, and experience. He continues volunteering at BDL and sharing these traits with others in his retirement. His first project? Building a truck for his young grandson.

We also say goodbye to Mechanical Engineering Design Intern Eve Decamp this winter. Eve joined BDL in June, and now returns to Northeastern University to continue her dual Physics and Philosophy degree. “I’m grateful to have contributed to a company whose work makes real impact both to the environment and to women and children across the globe,” Eve shared about her intern experience at BDL. “This was a great opportunity for personal and professional growth for me; I look forward to keeping up to date on BDL's future successes. Thanks to everyone who made this such a positive experience for me!” We will miss Eve’s creativity and presence in the office, but we wish her the best as she continues her undergraduate education. We hope you’ll join us in thanking Lou and Eve, and wishing them good luck on their future adventures!
